‘BETTER EDUCATION TO POOR RURAL CHILDREN’
We the founders
and owners of oldonyo le ngai sfaris depect the real
preposition that ‘if the rural poor youth and children are
helped to get good education,they can change the world
surrounding them’.
As for our case we
had to walk a long distance of about 10-15 kilometers in
search of education. on the way we faced the danger of wild
animals such as lions and elephants. we need not give the
while testimony. however, what is important we climbed the
steps to employment and soon created our own tour company
and that is oldonyo le ngai safaris.
We know that rural
children can do a lot if they are given chance and support
to ‘live their dreams……
Our company took
this motto not by chance rather intentionally. now, we think is
high time to put our motto into practice by doing something
of profit to our rural children who come from most poor
families and orphans.
We think ‘BETTER
EDUCATION TO POOR RURAL CHILDREN’ comes at a right time and
place. it is true that our company needs the rural
pastoralist community than the way they need us. we think
‘Better education to poor rural children' shall be a good
gift to the poor rural community of pastoralists who
actually settle peacefully with our precious wild animals.
It is from this
care of pastoralist to wild animals that we have
tourist. game viewing and cultural tourism depend highly on
these pastoralist community who in return get nothing. our
projects aim at making the pastoralist community feel more
responsible towards nature and environment as well.
The project
therefore anticipate to do a number of projects as follows:

Build boarding
schools in rural pastoralist community.

Help the
existing schools with teaching and learning materials.

Sponsor
orphans from primary to secondary and collage level.

Build
hospitals in rural areas.
BOARDING SCHOOLS IN RURAL AREAS:
The need for
boarding schools in pastoralist remote rural areas is of
supreme importance. the pastoralist Maasai always shift in
search of good pasture. schools available are very far and a
child has to walk 10-15kilometres with dangers from wild
animals to look for education.
For this
case, absentism and absconding are common problems in rural
pastoralist schools.
We hope our
project can reduce the problem by building boarding as well
as day schools. such schools shall provide the poor children
with all necessities such as food clothes and teaching and
learning materials.
We also hope to
render our help to the existing schools with construction of
newly needed classrooms, latrines, and houses for
teachers. this may lead into good performance and high
enrolment of childrens in schools.
HELPING WITH TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS.
We hope to request
our clients who might be interested to help in collection of
used books, computers, playing facilities and other used
teaching and learning materials from America, Europe, and
Asia. These materials shall be distributed to the existing
primary and secondary schools.
‘What real is
thought to be of no value in one place can be of great need
and importance to another community. we studied in a school
where the only book we had was the one used by the
teacher. we wish we had even the used ones. for this the
project shall minimize the problems only since getting rid
of the problems much need to be done.
SPONSOR A CHILD:
Our company is
launching a project on child sponsorship. the company shall
sponsor ten children who are orphans each year. the
sponsorship shall cover all schooling facilities, school fees
and food. this project shall be owned by the community and so
we hope the local community shall host and take care of
orphans attached to their communities.
Individual persons
and organizations are also welcome to share with us. a child
or a group of children can be sponsored.
BUILDING A DISPENSARY;
Our vision focuses
on construction of hospitals and also help the existing ones
to improve their services. the rural women walk twenty
kilometers in search of health services. some women deliver
on the way to the hospital under poor care. in many cases the
probability of survival for such women and children depend
on the mercy of nature.
Oldonyo le ngai
safaris would like to see the rural women living their
dreams of seeing themselves grow old and their children
fulfilling their dreams without unreasonable cause of death.
HOW CAN ANY ONE PARTICIPATE:
Oldonyo le ngai
safaris alone can not bring reasonable change. we do
understand the preposition that’ united we stand’. This
preposition gives us courage to call upon interested persons
organizations, companies to join hand with us in this
endeavor. therefore any one who is interested can
